If there was one player who stood out in the New Orleans Saints 26-18 win over the Atlanta Falcons it was certainly Taysom Hill. The backup quarterback blocked a punt in this game and also scored two touchdowns (one rushing and one receiving). For a guy who isn’t a full-time starter Hill did a remarkable job of making an impact in this match-up. It’s unusual to see someone takeover in the ways that Hill does and it gives New Orleans a spark.
Sean Payton knows he can count on his packages for Hill to take some of pressure off of Drew Brees. The reason why it’s because it adds another wrinkle to the Saints offense and it’s another thing that opposing defenses have to prepare for. It’s so tough to beat this team when everything is clicking. Taysom Hill has earned everyone’s respect in that locker room because at the end of the day he can help New Orleans win games. Atlanta had no answer for Hill and he’s got to be confident in his abilities moving forward. At this point Taysom Hill isn’t surprised by his success. He knows how much his play can bring to this offense and Hill is expected to live up to the standard he’s set throughout his career. It actually seems like the 29 year old is still getting better too so there’s a promising outlook for Hill as we start to get ready for the playoffs.
