Drew Brees is out of action for at least the next six weeks with a thumb injury and now the New Orleans Saints have to decide who will be their starting quarterback? Teddy Bridgewater is who came in for relief of Brees against the Los Angeles Rams but you know Sean Payton is tempted to go with Taysom Hill.
The former BYU signal caller has been a favorite of Payton’s ever since the Saints signed him as a free agent back in 2017. That’s why you always see Hill implemented into the team’s offensive game plan and it also lets you know that Payton is a firm believer in Hill’s potential. So when Taysom Hill outplayed Teddy Bridgewater in the preseason one could foresee how things would play out and now Sean Payton is dropping hints that a change might be in the works. Based off some of his comments to the media it feels like Bridgewater will be benched if he doesn’t play well against the Seahawks on Sunday. It’s a very thin ice situation and it’s even possible that New Orleans will start Hill against Seattle this upcoming week and expedite the process. Basically this is the direction things are heading in the Big Easy and it’ll be exciting to see if Bridgewater can step up and hold off Hill? The pressure is definitely on.
