The Tennessee Titans started off slow against the Dallas Cowboys but they settled in and eventually dominated America’s Team. Marcus Mariota was the much better quarterback on the field and Dak Prescott couldn’t keep up. Mariota threw for 240 yards, 2 touchdowns, and no interceptions. The Titans quarterback also rushed for 32 yards and another touchdown proving that he can be the difference maker for his ball club. Prescott had 243 passing yards, 2 touchdown, and 1 interception but that turnover was costly (down near the goal line). Prescott wasn’t as good at running the ball as Mariota was either and he didn’t make the clutch plays that Dallas needed. Dion Lewis combined for 122 yards and 1 touchdown for the Titans offense too and he got better as the contest went on. Derrick Henry and Jonnu Smith also scored touchdowns for Tennessee and it was a great effort by everyone of Mike Vrabel’s players. Dallas on the other hand cooled off after a very hot start. Jaylon Smith and Demarcus Lawrence forced a couple of turnovers in the first half but after that they were quiet. Dak Prescott was in the same boat he came out firing to Amari Cooper but then the Titans made adjustments. Ezekiel Elliott had 112 total yards and 1 touchdown but it wasn’t enough to put the Cowboys over the top. Amari Cooper did play well in his Dallas debut with 58 receiving yards and 1 touchdown. However the story of this game was Vrabel’s second half game plan. They limited Ezekiel Elliott and made Prescott win through the air. Things didn’t work out for the Cowboys and the Titans have to be proud of how well they executed. That was largely because of Wesley Woodyard and Jayon Brown. Woodyard recorded 8 tackles and 1 sack. Brown was also solid with 4 tackles, 1 sack, 1 TFL, and 1 forced fumble. Overall you have to be upbeat if you’re a Tennessee fan. They get back to .500 with a 4-4 record. It seems like the Titans are playing aggressive football each weekend and it’s working in their favor.
