The old saying goes “competition brings out the best in everybody.” If that’s true then the Jacksonville Jaguars should sign Colin Kaepernick. Right now Gardner Minshew is the starting quarterback of this team. And while Minshew showed a lot of promise in his rookie season. If he struggles or gets injured this year then Jacksonville will need someone else they can turn to. Mike Glennon is currently the backup QB on the Jaguars roster and there’s no doubt that Kaepernick is a better player. So this is the right situation for Kaepernick for a number of reasons. He’s good enough to have a roster spot on this team. Then you have to factor in that Kaepernick could actually push Minshew and make him work harder. So if Jaguars owner Shahid Khan wants to win over his players. It would make sense to sign Kaepernick. Because not only does it add up from a football perspective. This move would also create a buzz for Jacksonville. People from around the world will buy this guy’s jersey and come to the games to support him. And if you go down the list and Kaepernick checks off all of the boxes. Then why not offer him a contract? There’s no reason not to.
