The Detroit Lions have struggled historically but it’s not hard to see what the key is for their team. They need to capitalize on Matthew Stafford’s talent because his playing career is starting to wind down. Stafford has easily been the Lions best quarterback and it’s up to Bob Quinn to honor Stafford.
You do that by loading up on the offensive side of the ball and by giving Stafford the best supporting cast he’s ever had. Quinn should seriously consider trading down with the Dolphins and then select CeeDee Lamb out of Oklahoma. Talent-wise Lamb would blend well with Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones. Those weapons could give Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen a run for their money in the NFC North. Then Detroit has to make a run at Jack Conklin in free agency. Conklin is from the state of Michigan and that’s something the Lions could leverage in negotiations. There’s no place like home and then you bump either Taylor Decker or Rick Wagner inside to guard. Those two moves alone would make Matthew Stafford’s life so much easier. At this point this guy deserves it after how loyal he’s been to that franchise and to the Ford family.
