You The Houston Texans were so close. Deshaun Watson was their franchise quarterback who could get them over the hump. But the Texans shot themselves in the foot when they decided not to hire a G.M. Instead head coach Bill O’Brien took over that role and things went South very quickly. The Laremy Tunsil and Kenny Stills trade wasn’t that bad because they got two players who could get them closer to winning a Super Bowl. But Houston had to give up two first round picks to pull the deal off. Obviously that set this team back but it wasn’t the end of the world because they could still improve their roster during free agency. However everything unraveled for Houston when they traded away DeAndre Hopkins. Now there’s too many holes to fill and there’s no way to properly address those issues. The last thing you want to do is take anything away from your team. And make no mistake about it Hopkins is too big of a star to replace. They’ll miss all of those plays in the passing game. Trading him also has to be frustrating for Watson. So with no first round pick, a worse roster, and low morale the writing is clearly on the wall. The Texans are very close to imploding and it all could’ve been avoided by hiring a G.M.
