We’ve known that the New York Jets and Jamal Adams have been at odds for a long time. Adams wanted a contract extension and the Jets were unwilling to get a deal done. There’s also been plenty of signs of Adams’ frustration on his social media accounts. Finally Adams just came out and said that he’d like to be traded. The ideal landing spot for Adams is the Dallas Cowboys and he’s hoping that’s where he’ll end up. But most of this is happening because New York isn’t a contender. Adams doesn’t want to risk his health while playing for a losing team. To him it’s just not worth it and he’ll take his chances elsewhere. For Adams he feels like his career is wasting away with this organization. When you also add in the friction between Adam Gase and him. It makes sense that he’d want to get out now. Gase’s coaching staff benched Adams after a loss to the Browns last season. There’s a good chance that situation would continue to deteriorate if he stuck around. So it was better for Adams to force his way out. At the moment it feels like the Jets will grant his wish. Because they have to be sick of dealing with all of the distractions that have been swirling around Adams’ future.
