Last year the Miami Dolphins traded away all of their top players. Laremy Tunsil and Kenny Stills were shipped out to the Houston Texans and Robert Quinn wound up in Dallas. But somehow despite all of that Brian Flores was able to figure out his team’s identity. Sure the Dolphins finished with a 5-11 record. However it was obvious that Miami was starting to get their act together. And it created some optimism for this ball club. So when you take into consideration how much better Miami got during free agency. It’s pretty clear how far they’ve come in just one off-season. Perhaps the biggest addition will be Byron Jones in the secondary. Jones is a player who rarely gives up separation and he’s exactly what Flores needs in a trigger-happy system. The Dolphins like to blitz often and you need corners that can excel in man coverage to execute those plays properly. Then there’s the arrival of Kyle Van Noy and Shaq Lawson. A pair of defenders who’ll bolster the team’s front-seven. So if you step back and look at the big picture. Miami has brought in key players at all three levels (defensive line, linebackers, and secondary). We know talent ultimately wins games in the National Football League. And it’s clear Flores loaded up for the 2020 season.
