There was a point in time when Derek Carr was almost fired by the Las Vegas Raiders. Jon Gruden had just taken over the team and he was reevaluating everything. That included his starting quarterback but Gruden has to be happy that he kept Carr around. Eventually those two would become neighbors when the Raiders relocated to Las Vegas. And clearly that’s had a positive impact on their offense. Carr is having his best season ever and it’s because Gruden has given him the support he’s lacked in the past. The Raiders offensive system takes pressure off their quarterback. Instead it’s a group effort and the running backs, wide receivers, and even tight ends are asked to contribute. Carr gets to be more relaxed because of things that Gruden brings to the table. That‘s led to the revival of this team. Another thing that we can’t overlook is how much Nelson Agholor is helping out Carr. The Eagles wrote Agholor off but clearly that was premature. Now Las Vegas is having success with two players that were once considered the problem. It just goes to show that sometimes you have to be patient because good things can be right around the corner.
