Khalil Mack missed the Bears last game against the Jets because of an ankle injury and that’s definitely concerning to Chicago’s fan base. The good news is it looks Mack will be back soon but the real challenge is whether or not he can take this football team to that next level? Right now the Bears are 4-3 and lead the NFC North but they’ve cooled off a little bit losing two out of their last three games. After such a promising start it’ll be up to Mack to make sure things don’t unravel as we finish out the regular season. Obviously that’s going to be very difficult to do because the Vikings, Packers, and Lions are all within one game of Chicago. There’s literally no room for error and to make matters worse Mack probably isn’t 100% health wise. Still though these are the moments that define a great player’s career because there’s always going to be challenges. It’s all about responding to adversity and proving that you can propel your team to new heights. The fans in the Windy City have waited eight years to have a playoff team and what a better way to start of the Mack Era than by bucking that negative trend. It’s not like he can’t do it Khalil Mack already has 20 tackles, 5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 1 interception, and 1 defensive touchdown. Obviously the former Raider was motivated by being traded but he has to find a way to stay hot from here on out. The last thing the Bears need is Mack disappearing as the Vikings surpass them and win the division. Therefore the highest paid defensive player in the league has to live up to the expectations and reward (G.M) Ryan Pace for taking a chance on him. This organization’s future will be greatly impacted by how far they go?

There’s no debating it. Khalil Mack is a rare talent. However his challenge is turning the Bears into an elite team.
