Last year the Tennessee Titans were just one game short of going to the Super Bowl. They lost to the Kansas City Chiefs who’d eventually win it all. But the Titans are a better team now and that makes you wonder if they can upset the Chiefs? Obviously it’s tough to beat Kansas City in the playoffs because they take their intensity to another level. However the one thing the Titans do well is play outstanding defense. Mike Vrabel has done an excellent job of blending the right personnel with a fundamentally sound scheme. That’s why Tennessee was able to completely shutdown Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills offense last night. So it’s only natural to wonder if the Titans could do the same thing against the defending champions? Kansas City is in a different class than Buffalo is. But there’s no doubt the gap between the Chiefs and Titans is starting to narrow. Jadeveon Clowney gives Vrabel more firepower than he had last time around. Is that enough to throw Patrick Mahomes off his game? That’s an answer we’ll probably get soon because these two teams seem to be on a collision course with one another.
