We’ve all heard Jerry Jones delusional support for Jason Garrett. In Jones defense that’s what he has to say with Garrett as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys or it would hurt the team’s chances of winning each Sunday. But when Urban Meyer publicly stated that he would take the Cowboys job it changed everything for this franchise. Jason Garrett preaches about being organized but he doesn’t have great football IQ like Meyer does.
For the past several years Dallas has struggled with their offensive X and Os and that’s why Scott Linehan was fired and Kellen Moore took over the reins. You could combine both of those offensive coordinators knowledge and they still aren’t on par with Meyer. And you know the former Ohio State coach remembers the last time he had Ezekiel Elliott to carry his offense (The Buckeyes won a National Championship). Ultimately Meyer will get the ball to his athletes in space and create mismatches for this offense. Which is the area Dallas has been lacking in and it’s almost like a match made in heaven. Clearly Meyer has a lot of respect for the Cowboys brand and he’s available if Jones needs him. With Nick Saban and Chip Kelly both failing during their attempt at pro football. It’ll be interesting to see if Meyer can make the transition and show he can have success at the next level. One thing is for certain you shouldn’t bet against him.
