Is Taylor Heinicke ready to take over Washington’s starting job?

Let’s talk about Taylor Heinicke. This guy didn’t come into the NFL as a superstar. He came into the league as a project. And to get to where he is today. Says something about who Heinicke is. Now we know why Chase Young was so vocal about supporting Heinicke. And it seems like this guy gets a little bit better every time we see him. The thing that jumps out at you about Heinicke. Is he isn’t a one read QB. You’ll see him get through his progressions. Check to the left and come back to the right before making a throw. So he’s seeing the entire field. He’s going through his options and making good decisions with the ball. Last night Heinicke got Terry McLaurin going. So Washington was able to overcome a slow start. Those two were on the same page for most of the night. And they were the reason Washington was just a little bit better in this 30-29 win over the Giants. And if Ryan Fitzpatrick is on his way out of the league. Heinicke has been good enough that Washington doesn’t have to run out and draft someone else. He’s close to being this team’s starter.
