It was rough year for the Washington Redskins this past season and the running game was a problem on both sides of the ball for this team. The running backs couldnā€™t get anything going only averaging 90 yards per game which was ranked 28th in the league. Then the defense was even worse surrendering 134 yards per game which ended up being the 32nd ranked defensive unit or in other words dead last in the league. Getting Jonathan Allen back from the lisfranc injury that sidelined him for most of his rookie season will be huge for the Redskinsā€™ front seven. Allen is a disruptive force when healthy but so far thatā€™s been his achilles heel. Washington also has to do everything they can to put together a package of free agents so they can simply put more talented defenders on the field. In order to completely revamp things on that side of the ball this franchise will have to sign three key players on defense to be competitive. If the Redskins signed Dontari Poe, Adrian Clayborn, and Demario Davis then yea they could be back in the hunt again. On offense Washington really needs to improve their running back situation and get a few guys that can block upfront considering their offensive line gave up 41 sacks for the whole season. Thatā€™s too high so now they have to look at the draft as another means to upgrade their roster. If Orlando Brown is there that could be a great addition for the hogs upfront and then they have to do everything they can to land Nick Chubb in the second round. That means the Redskins will likely have to forfeit one of their later picks so they can trade up in the draft. It will all be worth it though if they can walk away with Brown and Chubb. By taking this course of action in both free agency and the draft the Washington Redskins can take a step closer towards success. They also have to find a way to add another wide receiver along the way so they have a lot to accomplish before they can be a true contender in the NFC.
