The Washington Football Team has a good horse in the stable. Antonio Gibson is a thoroughbred and it’s amazing what he’s becoming. Watching this guy carve up the Dallas Cowboys was like seeing a chainsaw rip through anything in it’s path. To be honest Dallas didn’t have an answer for his speed. Gibson is a slasher that uses his acceleration to press the issue. He showcased that when blew past the Cowboys defense multiple times. Washington can get around those edge defenders and turn the corner when Gibson has the ball in his hands. Great athletes make an offense more dynamic. That’s what’s happening with Washington. Alex Smith is still getting back in the swing of things. And Ron Rivera is trying to be patient with him. So they’re feeding Gibson to make things easier for Smith. Lo and behold Gibson is actually good enough to carry the torch. For him it’s all about his burst, his explosiveness and being able to run to daylight. The reality is Dallas couldn’t keep up. By the time it was the fourth quarter they were fatigued from chasing Gibson around all night. It was a bad match-up for a bad defense. And Gibson got his Thanksgiving dinner a little bit early.
