When you have a great player like T.J Watt. You bend the rules for them. We all know the starting QB gets more leniency than the 53rd man on the roster. And Watt should get some special treatment of his own. The Steelers should throw out their rule of not negotiating during the season. Make Watt their lone exception to the rule. That way they can get a step closer to getting a deal done. Because let’s be honest this isn’t a normal player. Watt has dominated during his first four years in the NFL. This is someone that has to be in the picture for the long haul. The Steelers also have to make sure to keep Watt happy. Things have already gotten to the point where it’s become a distraction. G.M Kevin Colbert should just take Ben Roethlisberger’s advice. And pay Watt whatever he wants. At the end of the day it’s the best move for the team.
