KFC Is Bringing Back Its Most Iconic Sandwich

Many restaurants have garnered attention for their unusual flavor combinations or shock factor. Burger King offered a Halloween Whopper 

with a black bun and A1 sauce. Tim Horton's Buffalo Latte blended buffalo sauce and coffee. KFC's Double Down sandwiches bacon, 

cheddar, and sauce between two pieces of fried chicken instead of a bun. KFC has great news for Double Down fans who want its return.

The breadless sandwich returns this month for the first time in nearly a decade at the fried chicken chain. The Double Down will be available at KFC

KFC sold over 10 million sandwiches after debuting them in 2010. The Double Down was controversial—some called it a "monstrosity,

KFC temporarily reintroduced the controversial sandwich in April 2014. This time, its four-week menu run will be similar.

"The Double Down is one of the most buzzworthy fast food menu items ever," announced KFC U.S. chief marketing officer Nick Chavez.

"After nearly a decade of requests, we're embracing the chaos and bringing back our most iconic sandwich for four weeks."

A Double Down will be available a day early to some fans. The first 2,014 customers who pre-order on a special KFC website once signups
