Taco Bell's "Premium" Chicken Nuggets Compete with McDonald's

When craving chicken nuggets, you may head to McDonald's. However, Taco Bell may be your last choice.

However, Taco Bell's "premium" chicken nuggets and other new menu items this year may change that.

Taco Bell will offer Crispy Chicken Nuggets on October 12. The hitch is that you must reside near one of the 83 Minneapolis locations that

will test them for a limited period. At Taco Bell's Irvine headquarters' media event, brand marketing representative Jessica Perri said,

Perri probably meant McDonald's. According to Taco Bell's food innovation team member Chef Brett Pluskalowski, customers have

been asking for more chicken-based items on the menu. He also announced that the nuggets will be made with all-white meat. Genuine chicken."

While McDonald's website says their Chicken McNuggets "are made with all white meat chicken and no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives,"

some believe they include "what some people call 'pink slime' or 'pink goop.'" The chain clarified that this is not a depiction of how they make

Chicken McNuggets or any other menu item. All Chicken McNuggets use USDA-inspected boneless white-meat chicken."

New Taco Bell nuggets feature "real" white chicken meat, jalapeño buttermilk marinade, and one of two dipping sauces.
