Will the Rams be able to overcome the Cam Akers injury?
Author: Jon Kuzma
The Rams got some horrible news today. Cam Akers tore his achilles while training. This is a brutal blow for this team. Because Akers was the Rams star in last year’s playoffs. They were counting on Akers to be their spark plug. But now it looks like Akers will be out of action until next season. That means it’s the next man up. So you can expect the Rams to lean on Darrell Henderson. If there’s any good news for Los Angeles. It’s the fact that Henderson has shined at times. Some teams are in a lot of trouble when they lose such a good player. But Henderson is more than capable of stepping up. The other guy who will have to bail the Rams out is Matthew Stafford. The plays have to come from somewhere. And he’ll be the one who gets scrutinized if they don’t. So from here on out. It’s up to Stafford and Henderson to keep this team alive. They’re the ones who will decide whether this is a hiccup along the way. Or an injury that seals their fate.
