Andrew Luck has retired but the Indianapolis Colts are still finding a way to get it done. That’s because Marlon Mack has been playing lights out and now Indy has a 3-2 record. Not many people would’ve predicted that but Mack has been the glue after Luck’s departure. With 470 yards and 7 touchdowns this season we’re witness an offensive explosion from the third year ball carrier. Once a 4th round pick now Mack is one of the best running backs in the league. It’s amazing to see the strides he’s made and it’s all because of how well Mack runs between the tackles.
The Colts love to hand him the ball and let him work on the inside. Up to this point that’s been the bread and butter to his success and you also have to acknowledge Mack’s acceleration. Most guys get a little timid when they are running right at the linebackers but Mack doesn’t slowdown at all. Because Indianapolis is controlling the time possession with their rushing attack they are keeping their defense well rested on the sidelines. So there’s so many benefits from establishing the run and Frank Reich is playing his cards perfectly. His philosophy has been outstanding but it wouldn’t be possible without great players. Marlon Mack and the offensive line have been exceptional and it’s helping the Colts execution.
