When Sean McDermott went to Buffalo he ended an 18-year playoff drought for the Bills. Unfortunately the team only scored 3 points in that loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. But Josh Allen came in and fixed most of those problems. In fact the Bills went to the playoffs again this past season (2nd time for McDermott). And even though Buffalo lost that game to Houston 23-19. That jump from 3 points in the first playoff game to 19 against the Texans was a decent improvement.
But you also have to remember that Allen is only entering his third season. So he should get better with time because he’s still learning on the fly. The other thing that will help Allen standout is the addition of Stefon Diggs. That move should help this team win the AFC East. There’s also a good chance that Buffalo will win a playoff game next season. So to go from an 18-year playoff drought to potentially making a run in the playoffs is a huge success for the Bills. They’ve completely reinvented themselves and that’s what happens when you hit on several draft picks. Right now their roster is deeper than it’s been in the past. And so far that’s translated into wins.
