Zach Brown was absolutely amazing last year for the Buffalo Bills recording 146 tackles, 4 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 interception. Brown was 2nd in the entire NFL in tackles and that’s why it was such a big deal when he ended up signing with the Washington Redskins. The 28 year old Brown instantly bolstered Washington’s defense and now we know everything is going well for the veteran middle linebacker because he currently leads the NFL with 86 tackles. That’s exactly what the Redskins needed to get better against the run and this guy is as good as anyone in the league right now. The only middle linebacker who has been statistically better than Brown is Seattle’s Bobby Wager. Wagner has put up 239 tackles over the last year and a half compared to Browns 235. However if Brown continues to play at the level he is playing at right now he should be able to close the gap on Wagner and eventually take the lead as the most productive tackler over the past 2 seasons. The Redskins have to be completely happy with this acquisition but Brown is only on a one year contract. Which essentially means that Brown can play his way into a mega-contract at the end of the season. There’s no doubt he will get a huge payday if he leads the league in tackles. So there’s a lot of incentive for Zach Brown right and that’s very likely why we’re seeing such great results on the field. Now the question is whether or not the Redskins are going to be able to get into the playoffs? It won’t be easy for this team at all with the Eagles and Cowboys both rolling right now. Washington is going to need to win most of the games going forward and hope to get a little bit lucky as well.
