So the New England Patriots just released Mohamed Sanu not even a year after trading a second round pick for him. The general feeling at the time was Bill Belichick overpaid for Sanu. And we know now that was definitely true. But this move cost New England more than just a valuable pick. It also cost another receiver on this roster reps. Sanu took playing time away from a youngster that is still ascending in his career. That nine weeks of development could’ve really helped someone like Jakobi Meyers or Gunner Olszewski. Who would’ve had a larger role if Sanu wasn’t there. Not to mention trading for Sanu had to be underwhelming for Tom Brady. And we all know how long Brady waited for the Patriots to get him some help. When he realized Sanu was the guy that was riding in on the white horse. That’s when Brady decided it wasn’t worth his time anymore.
What are his crimes? Because he’s clearly getting punished.
